Talk by Michael Davis

Organised by Architectural Heritage Society of Scotland, Highlands and Islands branch. Venue: St Stephen's Church, Southside Road, Inverness IV2 4XA. Cost £6 or £2 students. Tickets available from AHSS.org or at the door.

Michael Davis explores the sometimes controversial issues facing those who take on the rescue of a crumbling tower house. The talk will consider the delights, challenges and benefits of such a project and the role of officialdom as a potential enabler—or disabler—reflecting on the fact that there may often be more than one valid conservation approach.
