Through Our Own Eyes

Talk by Julian Grant

Organised by Castlehill Heritage Society. Venue: Castlehill Heritage Centre, Castletown

For his research into the impact of the North Coast 500 on Highland communities, UHI PhD student Julian Grant developed three photography projects in Caithness, Assynt and Easter Ross. Local residents took photographs, wrote captions and created exhibitions on the themes of landscape, heritage and the impact of tourism in their community. In this talk, Julian shares images and stories from the projects and links them to the broader challenges and opportunities involved in tourism in the North Highlands.
