Description:

Join High Life Highland Culture and Learning Teams for a day of Discovery and Creations. The Countryside Rangers team will begin the Activity day with a short ramble at Thurso Beach to look for your favourite pebble to take back to NCVC. Remember to take warm clothing and suitable footwear. Use our seashore table exhibits to help you paint a seashore wildlife design of your choice on your pebble. Other Activities to enjoy during the day include; Explore the past of Caithness and learn more about its history with the help of fun activities and discussions. Members of the Archive Team will deliver activities focused on the wonderful archives held at Nucleus: The Nuclear and Caithness Archives. Historical events, landscapes and people from the past will be discovered through fascinating stories, games and creative engagement. NCVC Museum invites you to dive into the history of the Viking Settlement of Caithness. You will learn about the culture and art of the Vikings in creative ways. High Life Highland Libraries will bring ideas together to create a poster or picture showing the diversity and history in Caithness using pens, paper and cut outs to aid your design. They will also conclude the day with a story time. Please take along a packed lunch and refreshments as breaks will be incorporated into the day’s activities
