The Highland Archaeology Festival takes place 1st-16th October, with the launch lecture by Richard Oram on 30th September. 10th working rally at Daviot with working demonstrations, a display of static agricultural machinery, horse ploughing and a heritage marquee displaying photographs of farming life in the Strath in years gone by.
A great way to get an understanding on rural practices and remains! ARCH will have a stall there, focussing on quernstones and inviting people to get involved in recording these essential tools used for millennia.
Various agricultural machinery including a 1923 Albion Binder and a 1890 McDonald's of Portsoy Reaper. There will be an opportunity to see wool being removed from sheep and spun. Heritage tents and arts and crafts displayed. Highland Dancing, Piping and the InverRoss Accordian & Fiddle Group. Children’s activities too.
