Highland Archive Centre, Bught Road, Inverness
Bookings and further information from Eventbrite https://www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/gis-workshop-tickets-29053294185
The course will provide basic instruction on using QGIS, an Open Source GIS programme. Students will learn how to add GPS data, background maps and images and to create point, polyline and polygon GIS files.
This is a hands-on course and it is highly recommended that you bring a laptop computer uploaded with QGIS software (prior to the course date, the tutor will provide instructions on where to access the software and how to load on to a computer). It is also requested that those planning to attend provide details on type of GPS they use in the field. This will help the instructor to teach students how to upload data directly from their unit.
Please note teas/coffees will be available but lunch is not included, please bring your own or utilise the local cafes.
