The Built Environment Forum Scotland (BEFS) invites you a free workshop to discuss the current consultation on a historic environment strategy and proposed merger of Historic Scotland and RCAHMS. The consultation, launched by the Scottish Government, seeks views on the future care and management of Scotland’s historic environment. The Scottish Government is seeking views that will help further shape the development of a long term Strategy for Scotland’s historic environment and inform the development of a new lead public body that will lead and support its delivery. The consultation can be viewed at:
http://www.scotland.gov.uk/Publications/2013/05/1373
This workshop is aimed specifically at people who are involved in the historic environment on a voluntary based e.g. members of local civic trusts or AHSS casework panels, volunteers helping with the National Trust for Scotland, Archaeology Scotland or other volunteer based organisations.
By attending you will:
· Contribute your own views on the draft Strategy and the new lead body
· Hear the views of other volunteers across the historic environment sector and share your own ideas
· Key points from each table will be collated and fed back to civil servants responsible for taking the consultation forward
