Heritage on the Internet

5 weeks beginning Monday 1st Feb, 2:15-4:45. Ardersier Heritage Cafe (old school house, where the library is located)

This course funded by High Life Highland provides a chance to gain or expand your computing skills while exploring heritage websites. No experience necessary!

Introduction to Ancient Greece

Course offered by Gordon Gallacher (tutor, Workers´ Educational Association and classicist).

Description: The course will explore a number of aspects of Ancient Greek civilization including the emergence of democracy in Athens, cult practice and how that links with daily life and customs of the Greeks, colonization, conflict, and relations with the Persian empire. It will also cover art (vase paintings and sculpture) and architecture. Finally it will look at features of early science and the birth of Western philosopy.
