Excavations at Tornagrain
Talk by Lachlan McKeggie
Dingwall Community Centre. Organised by ARCH. Doors open at 7pm. Suggested donation £3
Morayston, Tornagrain is a development for an anaerobic digester and is located a little to the East of Inverness. Highland Archaeology Services were engaged to investigate the site, and discovered two distinct areas of archaeological activity. The east end of the site contained hundreds of stone filled pits and post holes forming at least three roundhouses and two possible four post structures. In stark contrast the west side of the site was dominated by larger pits with a high density of ceramics and burned material. This talk will cover the main findings of the excavation as well as radio carbon dates and results of expert finds analysis
