Don't Mention the War: how we talk about conflict in museums

Following the beast from the east postponing our original event in March we have rescheduled DON’T MENTION THE WAR for the 15 June! Venue: Culloden  Battlefield Visitor Centre

Do you work with a military collection, talk about conflict or have collections that deal with difficult histories?

Regardless of if you work or volunteer in learning, collections, conservation or front of house it can be challenging to talk to visitors about war. This mini conference is aimed at giving you confidence to take on the theme of conflict and engage with different audiences.

Joining us will be Dr Jenny Kidd (University of Cardiff) from the Challenging Histories Network, also during the day discover more about projects such as ‘Coming Home; Impact of the First World War in the Highlands’.

Tickets, which include lunch and refreshments, cost £15pp* for GEM and £20pp* for Non GEM Members.

 *plus booking fee.

There is no cost to Highland Museums Forum members who should book through Lorna Cruickshank lorna.cruickshank@highlifehighland.com Tel. 01349 860809
