Course: An introduction to measured survey techniques [Newtonmore]

The aim of this workshop is to introduce participants to the various methods of archaeological measured survey recording techniques including Plane Table and offset, DGPS, handheld GPS and Total Station.
The pros and cons of the various techniques will be explained, and some hands on experience given. Guidance will also be given on the criteria used for deciding what scale to use and discuss interpretation, depiction, generalisation techniques and software that can be used to edit and present survey data.
