Go Wild on the Canal

A full day of fun at Seaport Marina, Muirtown Basin, Inverness with lots of adventurous activities for all the family. Water walkers, climbing wall, boat trips, birds of prey display, bike skills challenge, waterside workouts, traditional music, ‘come and try’ canoes and kayaks and lots more!

There will be lots of chances to get on the water in various ways but also to appreciate what the canal has to offer in terms of a traffic free towpath. This full day of fun is part of a series of activities to encourage people to make the most of their local canal and all the great outdoor opportunities surrounding it. The Waterways Trust Scotland, in partnership with Scottish Canals has been delivering a variety of community engagement activities over the past year along the full length of the Caledonian Canal. Schools projects, guided cycles and wildlife workshops are a few of the things that the Heritage Officer, Stephen Wiseman, has been organising and delivering amongst communities along the Great Glen.

Location: Seaport Marina is based at Muirtown Basin at the eastern entrance to the Caledonian Canal. Only 15 minutes walk from the centre of Inverness.
Come along and get involved – activities are free, you just need some time and a little energy!
