INVERNESS – COLONIAL OUTPOST TO HIGHLAND CAPITAL

Jim Miller, Local Author and Historian will lead us through a whistle-stop tour of the ancient and historic past of the settlement, burgh and city at the mouth of the Ness.

Jim Miller was born and brought up in Caithness but has spent nearly 30 years now in Inverness. He has written several books. His latest “The Gathering Stream: the story of the Moray Firth” has recently been published by Birlinn.

Please do join us for what promises to be a riveting presentation of the City’s past. Attending the lecture will also enable participants to visit the ‘Illuminating Inverness’ Exhibition co-curated by local community members, utilising objects and images from the museum's collections, many of which have never been displayed before.

The lecture is FREE, but, as places are limited, booking is essential. Book in person at the museum, or call 01463 237 114 or email cait.mccullagh@highlifehighland.com
