Workshop:Numismatics Training Day [Inverness]

24 June 2014, Starts: 10:00, Ends: 15:30

Inverness Museum and Art Gallery is delighted to host Henry Flynn, from the British Museum’s Money and Medals Network, who will be offering, with members of his team a FREE Numismatics Training Day for those involved in museums and heritage in Highland and Moray.

This training day will be held on the 24th of June at Inverness Museum & Art Gallery.

The day will be free to attend and open to anyone with an interest in the subject – curators, collections managers, education staff, museum development officers and museum volunteers, etc. – everyone is welcome, although BOOKING is essential. museums with numismatic collections of all sizes and types (coins, medals, banknotes, tokens, badges, associated objects) are encouraged to send representatives.

The Money and Medals Network exists to build and develop relationships between UK museums with numismatic collections in the interest of sharing knowledge and expertise and it is my hope that together we will be able to set up a Scottish Numismatic Network after these training events have been held. It will then be possible for subsequent training days to be organised and held in the region that can focus on aspects of numismatics in more depth and detail.
