Workshop: Build a Bronze-Age Oven [Castletown]

16 August 2015, Starts: 10:00, Ends: 12:30

Build a Bronze-Age Oven

Castlehill Heritage Society, Castletown

Join Melissa and Romain of the School of Ancient Crafts as we build and use a prehistoric-style oven. We will dig a pit, build a cob wall around it and light a fire in the shelter created. In our oven we will bake some delicious foods much like those enjoyed by our Bronze Age ancestors, including fish wrapped in clay, and bread made using native and heritage grains.

This workshop is open to adults, and children aged 8 and over with an accompanying adult. The living history drop-in session from 1pm-4pm is open to all ages.

Places are limited, please register by emailing charlotte.douglas@aocarchaeology.com.
