Fieldwalking in the Black isle over the last six years has shown that it is an archaeologically rich area of national and international importance. Recent excavations at Tarradale near Muir of Ord uncovered rich remains of the earliest settlers in the Black Isle seven to eight thousand years ago as well as evidence of continued occupation right through prehistory.
