In the talk Gordon will outline some of the results of the to date 12 year project - the Northern Picts – highlighting some of the major advances that have been made in understanding the development of the Pictish kingdoms. This includes work on the dating and meaning of the Pictish symbol stone tradition, and the discovery of major settlements and fortifications. He'll also have a look at what we know of the Picts in NW Scotland.
