Workshop: Rock Art [Culloden]

This free, one-day event will offer you the chance to contribute to the future of rock art research in Scottish archaeology. As part of a series of workshops held across Scotland, this event will provide an overview of Scottish rock art, as well as focussing more specifically on the rock art evidence in the Highlands.

The event will involve short talks, group discussions and a field trip to the Clava Cairns. A full agenda will be made available in due course.

Lunch, tea and coffee will be provided. Please make sure you fill in your dietary requirements when booking tickets.

The Venue

The event will take place at the Culloden Battlefield Visitor Centre near Inverness. Clava Cairns is located approximately 1.6 miles from Culloden Battlefield by car. Parking at the Clava Cairns is available, though may be limited at peak times, so carpooling is encouraged where appropriate. The fieldtrip is completely optional.

The Rock Art workshops are funded by the Royal Society of Edinburgh and supported by the ScARF project at the Society of Antiquaries of Scotland.
