Highland Heritage Day 2025 [Dingwall]

This year's Highland Heritage Day will take place on Saturday 15th March at Dingwall Academy. Heritage Groups, museums, projects and anyone interested in Highland heritage are invited to join together for a day of networking and workshops. This year the focus will be on fundraising and organisational sustainability.. Groups are encouraged to bring a stall to showcase their work. The public is also invited to come at the extended lunch break 12:45-14:05 to browse stalls and meet with organisers.

The event is free, with travel bursaries available, thanks to funding from the Scottish Community Heritage Alliance, Highland Archaeology Services, with support from ARCH, NoSAS and Museums & Heritage Highland.  Lunch provided! 11:15 – 11:45 Our Experience of Fundraising – two presentations, from:
● Fiona MacKenzie, Strathnaver Museum
● Jim MacKay, Kirkmichael Trust
11:45 – 12:30 Group Workshops on fundraising
Workshops led by a Facilitator to consider current practices, issues, challenges, and
solutions around fundraising.
12:30 – 12:45 Plenary session
To hear feedback from workshops
12:45 – 14:05 Extended Lunch Break
Have lunch, chat, network, and view the display stands.
Food provided by Batty’s Baps, Dingwall.
14:05 – 14:25 Organisational Sustainability – How we do it
A presentation from Ian Leith, trustee of a number of heritage organisations including Wick Society, John O’Groats Mill Trust and Scottish Civic Trust
14:25 – 15:15 Group Workshops on organisational sustainability
Workshops led by a Facilitator to consider how heritage groups can ensure continuity and organisational sustainability.
15:15 – 15:45 Plenary session
To discuss feedback from workshops and common themes, ideas etc and closing remarks
