The Story of Inchindown

Talk by Dave Cook and Preston White

Organised by Invergordon Museum.

The not-so-secret site of the Invergordon Oil Fuel Depot was built in the hills at Inchindown, as a bomb-proof supply of furnace fuel oil to the Royal Navy's base at Invergordon. Work on the tanks began in 1938 and was completed in 1941. No longer used by the Royal Navy, the tanks now hold the record for the longest reverberation in any man-made structure. What is it like to be in the tanks? And what is their story? Find out more with Dave and Preston. Entry is by donation, with all proceeds going to support the development of Invergordon Museum. Refreshments available.
