Poolewe has a fascinating history dating back to the bronze age when the earliest settlers began crofting. Inverewe Estate has over 40 points of archaeological interest and this walk will encounter a few of them including a visit to a roundhouse and Trig Point, a WWII place of interest. Join the Ranger for thousands of years of history in just a few hours! This is a strenuous walk over uneven terrain and boggy ground so sturdy outdoor shoes are essential. Bring water, sunscreen, waterproofs.

This is a fascinating walk back in time to the ice-age where the bones of reindeer, polar bears and even humans were discovered in the caves. Stout footwear is essential.

Thursdays starting 25th June for 8 weeks

Come share and listen to memories, stories and knowledge of the buildings, sites and features that are on your doorstep. Everyone is welcome to attend, whether to share memories or to learn about local heritage in the community. We will then look at a wartime plan, old photographs and aerial photographs to identify what still remains and record what has gone.
FREE. Come for one or all of the sessions.
