Dig and Site visits -Achnacon, Glencoe ...

The NTS and Eddie Stewart from U. of Glasgow return to Glencoe again this year, with an opportunity to participate during the dig, visit the site, try your hand at digging on 28th June, and participate in a festival on 5th July . The focus is the settlement of Achnacon, a pre-clearance township. They welcome

  • Join the team to help dig for a day or more. If interested contact Eddie at e.stewart.1@research.gla.ac.uk
  • Visitors on all active field work days, except 1st-5th July. 10am - 4pm. 15 minute walk from NTS Visitor Centre following the Glencoe Greenway ffotpath East (up the Glen)
  • Dig-for-a-day on Saturday 28th June. Volunteers will help with test pitting. All ages  welcome, but udner 16s  must be accompanied by an adult. Register on their website.
  • Glencoe Archaeolgy Festival on 5th July.
