The dig at Brodie Castle near Forres will follow the same format as previous years. Volunteers are sought to help both on the week days to staff the dig and the weekend to help run the open public event (e.g. introducing families to archaeological excavation chatting about artefacts from the dig and helping with logistics/registration etc – as an added incentive we also have a medieval reenactment group with us on Sunday!). Volunteers can choose only to dig if they wish.

The Exploring Dornoch Heritage Course in spring 2024 shared memories and researched various aspects of Dornoch's heritage. The group produced a display which will be featured at an Open Day at Historylinks Museum on 12th October 11am-4pm. Binders created during the course will be available to browse, and some participants on the course will be there too. Bring photographs and new informaiton. Free!
