Dig: Glenleraig [Assynt] ...

27 July 2015

 Digging the Clearances

18th century houses that were abandoned when Glenleraig was cleared in 1812. During this three day dig we want to compare these houses with a house that was fully excavated three years ago.

Glenleraig is beside the B869. East from Drumbeg, go through Nedd and downhill to cross the head of Loch Nedd, then up the hill and look out for parking spots by the fir trees on the right and further along the road on the left.

CONTACT Gordon Sleight, Historic Assynt, gsassynt@gmail.com if you would like to take part.

ALSO see the Historic Assynt website for more background information: http://www.historicassynt.co.uk/
