ARCH riddles in Dingwall Academy on Saturday 15 September
12 September 2012
It may be a bit nippy outside - but inside you can still enjoy all the excitement of an archaeological dig, in the warmth of comfort of Dingwall Academy.
So why not come and join Lynne and Lachlan McKeggie on Saturday 15 September from 1.00 to 4.00pm, and help them to try to solve the riddle of the Foulis Mound.
Could it be another Viking meeting place like the Dingwall Thing, or perhaps the base for a medieval motte, or could there been a period of intensive estate landscaping?
It is a puzzle, but perhaps the answer lies in the items that surface during flotation, or in the detailed plans and drawings of the site.
Find out what happens with all the evidence gathered at an archaeological dig, give some techniques a go, and see what you think the Mound is.
There’s a £3 charge for the session, but free for low income - and no need to book, just drop in and take advantage of Lachlan and Lynne’s expertise.
