App-solutely fantastic!

Apps - for smartphone . . . they're  like websites, but a lot more interactive and flexible . . . we can all see that they are likely to be the way to go in promoting our sites, or finding out about places to visit, BUT how on earth do you go about creating one . . . and don't they cost a fortune?
