Celebrate the return of the Nigg Pictish cross-slab
29 March 2013
The Nigg Old Church website has details of some interesting events arranged by the Trust to celebrate the return of the Nigg cross-slab. This masterwork of Pictish art has recently undergone extensive conservation work, which included a new support system that treats the monument much more kindly than the last.
The first event is the inauguration of the stone on Saturday April 6th at 3.00pm in Nigg Old Hall. Architect Martin Hadlington and stone conservator Graciela Ainsworth will be talking about their work after which the official unveiling will take place in the church.
Find out more about this event and the others planned throughout April on the Nigg Old Church website.
