Community Excavations this Summer
14 June 2010
Have you ever wanted to try your hand at field archaeology? This is a very good year for community excavations in the Highlands, with opportunities in Caithness, Sutherland, Easter Ross, Wester Ross, Skye and Moray, from June through to September. This is the last season for Birnie in Elgin and High Pasture Cave on Skye, and of Phase 1 of Applecross Broch, all important Iron Age sites.
Most digs ask that you commit to a minimum of a few days, and places are limited in many of them. See the Events pages on this website for further details and contacts.
