ARCH courses - lectures - films

The latest batch of ARCH courses start soon:

  • Surveying Your Heritage offering chances to learn how to survey and record archaeological features
  • Heritage Along the Kyle Line which will  research sites and buildings along the Kyle line
  • Focus on your Past, researching local heritage in Tomatin and Auldearn, leading to the creation of a Community Timeline display
  • Picture the Past Dornoch to Tain will create a full photographic record of known sites between Dornoch and Tain
  • Reporting on the Past - learn how to create an impressive display and report of an Easter Ross road network.

Lecture Series
And in a new venture, ARCH will start a lecture series for the last Monday of the month in Dingwall Community Centre at 7:30pm. The inaugural lecture, by Steven Birch, on 28th October will describe the important and impressive Iron Age remains from High Pasture Cave and Fiskavaig Rock Shelter in Skye. Sure to be a fascinating and stimulating evening!

ARCH Film Nights
A film series with an archaeological theme will be held on the 2nd Friday of every month, November to March. The first film, on 12th November will be Indiana Jones: Raiders of the Lost Ark. What else could we start with?
